SpicePay is a blockchain payment processor. We enable merchants to accept various cryptocurrencies as payment for goods and services, and process the payments they receive from customers. We also offer an online wallet for storing the information needed to keep track of holdings and transactions.
Please note, SpicePay is not a cryptocurrency exchange or a platform for buying or selling cryptocurrency. Our payment processing services are only available to businesses that offer products and/or services for sale and legitimate charitable organizations that accept donations.
We currently process payments in Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH) and BitcoinCash (BCH). We are in the process of adding more, so please check our News page for updates. SpicePay account holders will also be notified by email when a new cryptocurrency has been integrated.
Yes. In order to use SpicePay, you must open an account. The process is standard: You will need to provide contact information as well as information about your business. All information must be complete, accurate and up-to-date. Changes should always be made in a timely manner.
SpicePay enforces rigorous Know Your Customer (KYM) and Anti Money Laundering (AML) screening policies, and may require additional information for the purpose of verifying your identity and assessing business risk.
No. At SpicePay we treat every merchant’s business with the same level of attention and responsibility. If needed, we are available to provide developer services, such as custom software solutions related to functionality and user experience.
Our transaction fees differ slightly based on the merchant’s industry and settlement volume, but are never more than 1% of the value of each payment in cryptocurrency (made by your clients to your wallet). We are proud to offer processing fees that undercut the banks’ 2%-4% commission. No other fees are collected on our behalf.
SpicePay is open to connecting and working with merchants from virtually any field in any part of the world. However, legal and regulatory guidelines prevent us from servicing certain businesses. A brief list of those is included below.
Wildlife, exotic pets, endangered animals and animal products
Narcotics, research chemicals and controlled substances
Items that infringe or violate intellectual property rights such as copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets and patents
Ammunition, firearms, explosives (including fireworks) and weapons
SpicePay reserves the right to cancel any account if unauthorized or illegal activity is detected.

Yes. Consistent with their local laws and regulations, merchants are solely responsible for collecting any information required of those who purchase goods or services from them. SpicePay will not be accountable and is in no way responsible for any outcomes resulting from a user’s failure to adequately screen customers.
When you receive cryptocurrency payments from your customers, the funds will be deposited to your SpicePay wallet by default. You can then withdraw them manually or automatically. SpicePay is not liable for any losses incurred as a result of improperly reported or designated cryptocurrency addresses a user has provided.
You can withdraw funds in cryptocurrency, fiat currency or a combination of both. If you opt for cryptocurrency settlement, your funds will be deposited to the address specified in your account profile. Or, you can make withdrawals in USD or EUR, and receive them via wire transfer, SEPA, PayPal or prepaid debit card (available to EU- based merchants only). You assume volatility risks of the currency in which you choose to settle. For example, if you choose to settle in bitcoins, then you assume the volatility risk of the bitcoin value.
Merchants in the European Union can access their funds in less than 24 hours. If you are located in Africa, Asia, South America, Australia & Oceania, please allow up to 72 hours for the transaction to be completed.
Yes. You are responsible for determining any and all taxes assessed, incurred, or required to be collected, paid, or withheld for any reason in connection with the use of our software and services. SpicePay is not obligated to, nor will we determine whether any taxes apply, or calculate, collect, report, or remit any taxes to any tax authority arising from any transaction.
If you satisfy the location requirement (see previous question) and you are already a verified SpicePay user, all you need to do is fill in a short application form found here.
If you haven’t completed the verification of you account yet, please proceed to your profile to do so. We are required by law and the card’s issuing financial institution to collect ID and address information for each person who orders a SpicePay debit card.
You can add funds by selecting to withdraw the cryptocurrency payments from your customers to the debit card (please visit the Withdraw Funds on the Payout section of the Merchant Dashboard to make the selection). Alternatively, you can use your SpicePay wallet to load the card.
In addition to a small card issuance fee, SpicePay charges a commission of 1% of the amount transfered to the card. The fees will be withdrawn from your SpicePay wallet or merchant payout in BTC equivalent.
SpicePay doesn’t charge any additional fees.
